THE DESIGN
The bobble hat pays homage to one of United's greatest goalkeepers of all time - Alan Kelly. The design is inspired by a memorable night under the lights at Bramall Lane in 1998 - more specifically the jersey worn by Kelly that night. Remarkably, this was one of the more subtle of uniforms that the Irishman donned during an era of psychedelic goalkeeper kits. The match climaxed in penalty shoot-out victory over Coventry in the FA Cup saw Alan Kelly perform heroics by saving 3 penalties, sending United in to the Semi-Final.
